Annual Meeting:
History of Shad Fishing on Mason Neck and the Potomac River
Join us at 2 PM on Saturday, February 12 for our Annual Meeting and a special program on efforts to restore American Shad to the Potomac River. Shad were once one of the East Coast's most abundant and economically important fish and were a vital part of the economy of the Mason Neck area.
Biologist and river ecologist Jim Cummins, who spent years working to restore shad populations in the Potomac River, will talk about the history of shad fishing in the region and efforts to restore shad populations.
The Annual Meeting and program are free and open to everyone. When you register you will receive the link to the Zoom program.
