Volunteer at Mason Neck State Park
Volunteer opportunities include:
You determine your own volunteer time. Volunteers may help a few hours a week or month, during a particular season, or year round.
No special skills are needed to be a Park volunteer. Some opportunities may require on-the-job training. Volunteers must be at least 16 years old.
As a volunteer, you'll have the satisfaction of knowing your efforts have enhanced your state park for today and generations to come. You'll meet new people - ranging from park staff and people in the community to visitors from other countries. The Park provides training that helps volunteers gain work experience and improve job skills. In addition, volunteer hours count as job experience when applying for employment with Virginia State Parks or for any state government slot.
Fairfax Master Naturalists can obtain service hours for their volunteer work at the park by entering Code S179, Virginia State Park Stewardship Projects -- Department of Conservation and Recreation (VDCR).
