Come to the Friends of Mason Neck State Park's annual Owl Moon event on September 22! This year, Secret Garden Birds and Bees will present a program on Winter Owls. We'll learn about the short-eared owls, long-eared owls, saw-whet owls and snowy owls that make the Virginia, Maryland and DC area their homes for the winter. Secret Garden will bring several species of live owls for you to see and photograph up close! We'll have a short Annual Meeting before the presentation. And we'll have light refreshments for you to enjoy as well. Please note that Owl Moon will be held at the Gunston Hall Visitor Center, 10709 Gunston Road, instead of at the Park, so that we can accommodate everyone who wants to come.
Owl Moon is open only to members of the Friends of Mason Neck State Park and their immediate families who register for the event; it's one of the benefits of being a member. If you are already a member, you can register by clicking on the link to the left. If you are not a current member, you can join the Friends for as little as $20 per year at Join the Friends of Mason Neck State Park, and you and your entire family can enjoy the Owl Moon event and our other events as well.
