CELEBRATE NATIONAL PUBLIC LANDS DAY – SEPTEMBER 27
Clean Up Mason Neck State Park Shoreline & Enjoy Free Park Admission
Please help clean up the Mason Neck State Park shoreline from 9 AM to noon on Saturday September 27. Have a canoe or kayak? You can paddle the beautiful waters around the Park for free while you help pick up trash.
Where: Mason Neck State Park, 7301 High Point Rd, Lorton, VA 22079 - meet at the Visitor Center
When: 9:00 – 12 noon, Saturday September 27, 2014
You bring: Work gloves. A canoe or kayak and a life vest, if you have them.
You get:
*The satisfaction of removing trash from the Park’s shoreline
*An opportunity to enjoy the River and Kane’s Creek (eagles, herons, egrets, kingfishers, a unique marshland environment)
*Coffee, bottled water, and snacks; plastic trash bags
*Free admission to the Park on September 27 for all volunteers (tell the gate Contact Station attendant you are volunteering)
*A one-time FREE PARK ADMISSION PASS (use any time!) for the first 25 volunteers/groups (pick up pass at gate Contact Station, validate it at the Visitor Center when you check in).
